Watch and record TV on your PC

There are two main ways of watching and recording TV on your PC: using a DVB-T USB Stick or by capturing streaming video over the internet e.g. BBC iPlayer.

Record streaming video to your PC

Programs are available that make it relatively easy to capture BBC iPlayer programmes and almost any video broadcast, such as Youtube videos. The quality is not as good as the original but sometimes there are valid reasons for wanting to keep a copy for viewing at a later date or for clipping bits out for your own collection of video clips on historical events, or politics or science. An example program is Replay Media Capture which does a good job of capturing iPlayer streams.
